Adult and Community Education at the South Campus offers Information
Technology courses to prepare for the following industry
standard
certifications:
A+,
Network+,
Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist - MCTS,
Microsoft Certified IT Professional - MCITP
Cisco Certified Network Associate - CCNA
NEW certifications from Microsoft have made changes to the IT Program. The Warren County Career Center will offer the new MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist) and MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional - on the same level as the MCSE certification) certifications. These brand new certifications from Microsoft will showcase skills in specific Microsoft products. With classes in Vista Configuration, Consumer Application Support and Enterprise Application Support it will be possible to obtain the MCTS certification as well as two MCITP certifications. We will be bundling the MCTS and MCITP in customer support and enterprise support with the CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications to provide a strong background in the Information Technology field.
At Warren County Career Center we believe in practical hands on training to prepare a student for not only a certification test - but a career. Adults are typically hands on learners and that is what we provide here, practical hands on learning. A+ certification proves you have a broad base of knowledge and competency in core hardware
and operating system technologies including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventative
maintenance and basic networking.
Network+ demonstrates your technical abilities in administration and support, and validates your knowledge of media and topologies, protocols and standards, network implementation and support.
MCTS - classes in Windows Vista Configuration Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist certification, industry recognition of your knowledge and proficiency with Windows Vista client technologies.
MCITP - classes in Windows Vista Consumer Support, combined with Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist certification to achieve Microsofts newest premier level certification.
CCNA - The CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate) indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking. CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.
